Amanda Bain

Grades 3 to 7 Supervisor
Miss Amanda Baine accepted Christ as a young child and fully surrendered to the Lord when she was 17.

Amanda has 12 years of teaching experience. She has taught grade R through grade 12 using a variety of Christian curriculums.

She has worked with many children's ministries between the years 2005 and 2023. The Lord has blessed her with a plethora of opportunities to impact the next generation for Christ.

Miss Baine came to South Africa to assist with the start of BBA in 2022. The Lord gave her the desire to return and she is now the lead teacher for grades 3-8.

She is excited to see what God is going to accomplish through Bay Baptist Academy.

Penelope Keevy

Grade R Supervisor
I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour at age 33 while attending a Women's Conference.

I heard about the new Christian school being opened and I offered my administrative assistance to the school, but clearly, the Lord had different plans for me!

I felt Him lead me to teaching instead, in which I had no prior experience and/or education. Thersia Theron, who has over 35 years' experience as a Grade R teacher, happily took me under her wing and is training and mentoring me, in order to be a great teacher.

I am truly blessed to be a part of the BBA team. God does not call those who are equipped, He equips those who are called.

Brittney Shear

Pre-school/Creche Supervisor
Ms. Brittney Schear came to know the Lord personally at the age of 13, while attending a summer camp in the United States.

Ms. Brittney taught grade R in 2017-2018 at a Christian school in America.
She then decided to visit South Africa to volunteer at a children’s home for 3 months. It was then that she fell in love with South Africa.

Ms. Brittney returned to the States and worked full time at a preschool in California for 2 years.

During that time, she also worked with her church’s creche, and Sunday School programs. In early 2023, Brittney returned to South Africa to teach Grade Naught at BBA.

She especially loves teaching Preschool age children and watching them grow and learn.
She is a great asset and blessing to the BBA family

Richard Betts

Office Administrator
Richard accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at the age of 12.

He worked in many fields in the financial sector before retiring at the age of 60.

Retirement is not something that Richard does very well, so he learnt new skills and continues to develop additional expertise in website design and development and video advertising.

He works on a part-time basis, 3 days per week and he keeps the back-office functions running smoothly.

Taegan Kammies

Afrikaans Teacher
I accepted Christ as a teenager and fully surrendered to the Lord when I was 19 years old.

I matriculated from high school in 2019 and furthered my studies at Nelson Mandela University.

Through out my studies I volunteered at both primary and high schools taking on various roles such as substitute teacher and administrative support, there my longing to teach grew stronger.

Upon completing my diploma in Public Management in 2022 I went on to study early childhood development with the hope of being able to  teach full time.
